Green Spaces
Stewardship means leaving a place better than you found it.
The Township of Langley is defined by its parks, trails, forests, wetlands and farmland. These aren’t empty spaces waiting to be developed, they’re part of what makes Langley home. They protect wildlife, improve our health, reduce flooding, support agriculture, and give future generations the opportunity to experience the same beauty we enjoy today.
I believe growth and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. We don’t have to choose between building for the future and protecting what makes Langley special. Good planning means looking beyond today’s needs and considering the long-term impact of every decision.
When green space and development proposals come before Council, I’ll ask:
- Does this protect the natural assets that make Langley unique?
- Have we balanced growth with environmental stewardship?
- What will this decision mean for future generations?
- Are we leaving our community better than we found it?
I believe stewardship isn’t about saying “no” to change. It’s about making thoughtful decisions that respect our environment while planning responsibly for the future.
